Get a Paper
Click on the link to download the .pdf template for the pop-up Lion:
Print out both pages from the template onto heavy paper, such as card stock or construction paper.

Using a ruler as a guide, take the rounded end of a paper clip (or ballpoint pen that has run out of ink) and press along the dotted lines of the pop-up pieces and card.
strong>Step 4: Carefully cut out your lion pop-up pieces and lion shaped card following the solid black around the shape.
Don’t forget to carefully cut out your lion’s nose by folding your main lion pop-up piece in half and then taking your time, cut along the solid black line.
You should have 5 pieces in all including the lion shaped card.
Take your lion shaped card and fold it in half. Open it back to its original position and set it aside for now.
Fold your main lion pop-up piece in half.
Take the right side corner of your main lion pop-up piece and fold it down towards you.
Take the top crease and fold the triangular shape down.
Take this triangular shape and fold it behind, creasing well.
Now unfold and push this triangle shape forward and crease well.
Repeat Steps 6-10 now on the other side. Once completed it should look like this.
Take the muzzle and push it back away from you so the lion’s nose comes sticks out forward. Set this main lion pop-up piece aside.
Take your lower jaw piece and fold it in half towards you so you see the dotted lines.
Take the tab right side bottom tab and fold it behind you.
Do this to the other side.
Now push the lion’s teeth in away from you and crease well.
Apply a small amount of glue to “Glue here A”.
Line up your main lion pop-up piece over the grey glue area.
Press firmly and let the glue dry.
Apply glue to “Glue Here B”.
Repeat this on the other side and line up your main pop-up piece over “Glue Here B” and press firmly while waiting for the glue to dry.
Apply a small amount of glue to “Glue Here C”.
Take your lower mouth pop-up piece and line it over “Glue Here C”. Press firmly and let the glue dry.
Now place a small amount of glue to area “Glue Here D.”
Gently lift up the lion’s muzzle and slip the mouthpiece underneath it.
Glue the tab over area “Glue Here D” and press firmly. Wait for the glue to dry!
Apply a very small amount of glue to “Glue here E”.
Take the right side of the lion’s ear and place it over “Glue Here E” Press firmly and let the glue dry.
Repeat this step to the other side of “Glue Here F”. Now you have both ears glued on.
Start to gently close your pop-up lion making sure all the pieces are placed in their correct positions.
Close your card completely and press down firmly.
Open your lion pop-up! Color it in with markers or crayons and share it with someone!- ROAR or PURR!
